Little or a Lot, My Treasure IS His

Posted by Melody Calhoun on Thursday, January 28, 2010,
One sure thing in my life is how God is faithful to reassure me that He has me going on the right path. I was being really down on myself, wondering what I did wrong to have a book out there that never was really published, and to have such a hard time getting my work accepted after that. I began wondering if I was doing right with what God gave me to write, or if I should just stop altogether.

Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.

Hidden in Him

Posted by Melody Calhoun on Saturday, January 23, 2010,
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
~ Psalm 91:1

I love this verse, because I envision myself being a small child walking beneath her heavenly Father, Him being so Great, full of Love, protective, close, and always watchful. With my God, I am safe, no matter what I come to meet in this life, or the eternal Life to come.

Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pav...

Repent Unto the Lord

Posted by Melody Calhoun on Tuesday, January 19, 2010,
Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath commited, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath commited, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
Yet saith the house of Israel, The Way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not My Ways equal? are not your ways unequal?
Therefore I Will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways,...

Seeking my God and His Will

Posted by Melody Calhoun on Saturday, January 16, 2010,

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil,
to give you an expected end.
Then shall ye call upon Me, ande ye shall go and pray unto Me, and I Will hearken unto you.
And ye shall seek Me; and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart.
~ Jeremiah 29:11-13

My Dear Heavenly Father,

Now, this day, in this moment, I seek You. I have been praying over everything that I write, asking
You to give me wisdom and direction. Within all my ...

Faith of Innocence

Posted by Melody Calhoun on Wednesday, January 13, 2010,
And the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple; and He healed them.
And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David, they were sore displeased,
And said unto Him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?
Matthew 21:14-16 ~ Jesus' Words in italic

I was wondering if God hears my ...

He Will Use the Work He's Given Me to Do

Posted by Melody Calhoun on Saturday, January 9, 2010,
Blessed IS every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in His Ways.
For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
Psalm 128:1-2

For a long time I have fretted about the status of my book, what happened to my publishers, what God really wants to happen with my writings. I've gone through doubts, depression, anger, and self-pity. Even though I was down here on earth having tantrum after tantrum, my God was and still is preparing His perfect pl...

Who God IS still making me to be:

Melody Calhoun
Beautiful Alaska

Melody Calhoun Obviously, I love to write. Words have always been intriguing to me, especially when they are eloquently put together to convey to others one's personality, as well as their veiwpoint on life all around them. I believe that writing is very theraputical, as you get to put some order to the thoughts that crowd our minds and lay heavy on our hearts. As a Christian who wants all that I write to be pleasing and acceptable unto the Lord, my works become even more than that, because I know that He has purposes I cannot even perceive or comprehend in all things done for Him. Other than writing, I like to spend time with my family. We're an odd little bunch! and we like to have fun together. Unfortunately, just like all other families, we don't always get along, but the Lord IS gracious and reminds us all of the Love He gives us to share. Hmmm,,, I love chocolate cocoanut bars; fish and chicken are my favorite foods; purple and green interwoven into and out of one another are my preffered colors; I have always felt blessed by the ministry that God has given Billy Graham; music is essential, and Jeremy Camp is my favorite Christian artist; I love Ansal Adams photography; and I absolutely Love the writings of Paul in the New Testament. Other than that, I'm pretty mellow. Smile,,, at least sometimes.
