Forgive and you shall be Forgiven

Posted by Melody Calhoun on Sunday, March 14, 2010,
We have sinned with our fathers, we have commited iniquity, we have done wickedly.
Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked Him at the sea, even at the Red sea.
Nevertheless He saved them for His Name's sake, that He might make His power to be known.
~ Psalm 106:6-8

I can understand how the Bible says the sins of the Father shall be visited upon the children (Exodus 34:7). Throughout my life I have found again and again that I...

Desire God's Will

Posted by Melody Calhoun on Thursday, March 11, 2010,
All over the Bible we are told to pray. But what are we truly to be praying for? A lot of churches teach that we should pray for what we desire, and then we are to believe that it's already done. Yet, I wonder why they aren't teaching that we should be careful for what we desire. Yes, I agree that we should be specific in our prayers to the Lord. He wants for us to have an open and honest relationship with Him. Yes, I believe that we should tell Him all of our desires. As we give to Him our t...

Repent & Sin No More

Posted by Melody Calhoun on Sunday, March 7, 2010,
Do you know that we all have been born into sin? The only human that was without sin was the Lord Jesus Christ. All of us are wicked. Our flesh that we wear craves pleasure and praise, power and control. Yet God, who created us can fulfill all of our desires, in this life, and in the Life to come. All we have to do is repent, asking Christ for forgiveness of our sins, and to turn away from our sins. That is the part that many people don't want to acknowledge. They want to continue walking in ...

Watch for His Light Through the Darkness

Posted by Melody Calhoun on Monday, March 1, 2010,
The people which sat in darkness saw great Light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death Light IS sprung up.
~ Matthew 4:16

This verse gives me much hope, as I am seeing death all around me. There are major earthquakes, famines, tainted waters, diseases, murderers, hate-filled words pouring out of everyone near and far. God IS faithful. His Word tells us that He IS coming to bring judgment upon the earth, and to avenge His people. I believe in the Holy Name of Jesus, my Lord, ...

Who God IS still making me to be:

Melody Calhoun
Beautiful Alaska

Melody Calhoun Obviously, I love to write. Words have always been intriguing to me, especially when they are eloquently put together to convey to others one's personality, as well as their veiwpoint on life all around them. I believe that writing is very theraputical, as you get to put some order to the thoughts that crowd our minds and lay heavy on our hearts. As a Christian who wants all that I write to be pleasing and acceptable unto the Lord, my works become even more than that, because I know that He has purposes I cannot even perceive or comprehend in all things done for Him. Other than writing, I like to spend time with my family. We're an odd little bunch! and we like to have fun together. Unfortunately, just like all other families, we don't always get along, but the Lord IS gracious and reminds us all of the Love He gives us to share. Hmmm,,, I love chocolate cocoanut bars; fish and chicken are my favorite foods; purple and green interwoven into and out of one another are my preffered colors; I have always felt blessed by the ministry that God has given Billy Graham; music is essential, and Jeremy Camp is my favorite Christian artist; I love Ansal Adams photography; and I absolutely Love the writings of Paul in the New Testament. Other than that, I'm pretty mellow. Smile,,, at least sometimes.
