Seeking my God and His Will

January 16, 2010

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil,
to give you an expected end.
Then shall ye call upon Me, ande ye shall go and pray unto Me, and I Will hearken unto you.
And ye shall seek Me; and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart.
~ Jeremiah 29:11-13

My Dear Heavenly Father,

Now, this day, in this moment, I seek You. I have been praying over everything that I write, asking
You to give me wisdom and direction. Within all my work, my hope and desire is to glorify and honour You, my God, my King. Father, can you see that I am honest in my writings? Do You feel the earnest yearning I have to know You more fully, and to be able to express to all who can hear and see that I Love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind? I write out of obedience to Your command to me. Lord, please let me have Your sight, so that I may know what to do with my writings, for Your sake, as well as for mine.

Though I do not understand why I am unable to publish my works for You,
I know that there IS an expected end, to me and to all that I do in this life. May it carry on into glory in the Life eternal to come. Above all, my Beautiful Wonderful Friend, thy Will be done.

In Jesus' Holy Name I pray, Amen.

If there are any of my brothers and sisters in Christ who have been reading my blog, or even those who may have just stumbled into my website, please, please pray for God to show me the Way in which I should walk. Thank you, and may He bless you with more of His most abundant Love.

Faith of Innocence

January 13, 2010
And the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple; and He healed them.
And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David, they were sore displeased,
And said unto Him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouths of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?
Matthew 21:14-16 ~ Jesus' Words in italic

I was wondering if God hears my ...

He Will Use the Work He's Given Me to Do

January 9, 2010
Blessed IS every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in His Ways.
For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
Psalm 128:1-2

For a long time I have fretted about the status of my book, what happened to my publishers, what God really wants to happen with my writings. I've gone through doubts, depression, anger, and self-pity. Even though I was down here on earth having tantrum after tantrum, my God was and still is preparing His perfect pl...

Grateful for His Faithfulness

December 30, 2009
Wow! I haven't written for this blog for a long time. I apologize to anyone who may have actually been reading my little snippets. We were without an actual home for nearly a year, but God has proved His faithfulness to us continuously throughout that whole time. We've had to live in a shelter, with my mom in her tiny apartment, with my sister, in a cheap motel, and in a non-profit transitory hotel that helps homeless people get back on their feet.

So, though we were without a home, we did ha...

This Life Within

April 15, 2009
The movements within me of this tiny life are so curiously intriguing! Sometimes I sit amazed that this is my fourth child, yet there is still so much wonder and excitement of this new little person being developed in my womb. Each of our children have different personalities, their own special character traits that are just their own, and my husband and I are eager to meet and know this child to come.

I pray that the Lord Will teach us to cherish the talents of each of our children, so that ...

He Promises Joy, Comfort, Peace, and Hope

April 5, 2009
Throughout these days that have been hard, I look to my Jesus for hope so that I may endure for His sake. He IS my Deliverer ~ He has saved my soul from death and hell. And every day, from moment to moment, He saves me from despair, despite my situation and my surroundings.

Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of His, and give thanks at the rememberance of His holiness.
For His anger endureth but a moment; in His favour IS Life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
~ Psalm...

He Meet Us, Changing Us Still

March 28, 2009
The Lord IS with you, while ye be with Him; and if ye seek Him, He Will be found of you; but if ye forsake Him, He Will forsake you.
~ from II Chronicles 15:2

Because of colds and fevers in our family, along with many hard circumstances we've had to face, our attendance to church has dramatically declined. Even before that we weren't the most devoted patrons. So this last Sunday we were very grateful to find ourselves actually there. All through the previous week I had been praying for God to...

Repent & Be Changed ~ While There is Still Time

March 24, 2009

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the LORD;
And He shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all HIs holy prophets since the world began.
~ Acts 3:19-21

God instructs us to not only express to Him and others remorse for our wrong doings, but He also wants us to demons...

My Apologies

February 25, 2009
To my dismay, I am unable at this time to be updating my blog on a regular basis. This is due to a virus that ate into my computer, and I no longer have internet access at my place of residence. The Lord has us going through many tough trials at this time. All of you who are my brothers and sisters in Christ, please continue to pray for us. Thank you for your devotion unto the Lord! May He bless you in your walk with Him.

I will try to post new things as I can. Again, I apologize for this to...

His Truth, His Light

February 13, 2009
This then is the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that God IS Light, and in Him is no darkness at all.
If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the Truth:
But if we walk in the Light, as He IS in the Light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the Truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, He IS faithful and...

Who God IS still making me to be:

Melody Calhoun
Beautiful Alaska

Melody Calhoun Obviously, I love to write. Words have always been intriguing to me, especially when they are eloquently put together to convey to others one's personality, as well as their veiwpoint on life all around them. I believe that writing is very theraputical, as you get to put some order to the thoughts that crowd our minds and lay heavy on our hearts. As a Christian who wants all that I write to be pleasing and acceptable unto the Lord, my works become even more than that, because I know that He has purposes I cannot even perceive or comprehend in all things done for Him. Other than writing, I like to spend time with my family. We're an odd little bunch! and we like to have fun together. Unfortunately, just like all other families, we don't always get along, but the Lord IS gracious and reminds us all of the Love He gives us to share. Hmmm,,, I love chocolate cocoanut bars; fish and chicken are my favorite foods; purple and green interwoven into and out of one another are my preffered colors; I have always felt blessed by the ministry that God has given Billy Graham; music is essential, and Jeremy Camp is my favorite Christian artist; I love Ansal Adams photography; and I absolutely Love the writings of Paul in the New Testament. Other than that, I'm pretty mellow. Smile,,, at least sometimes.
