Instilling Them With His Love

December 21, 2008

With our three children, I have moments where I envision them older and wonder if they'll be happy as adults. I cannot help but wonder if they'll each remain walking with the Lord, keeping themselves pure for marriage, and if they'll find the "true loves" of their lives.

There is no way that I can know what is in the future for my children. And I have to trust my Lord Jesus to lead them in His Ways. All my husband and I can do is teach them what is in the Bible, pray for them, and hold onto the promises of God.

Train up a child in the Way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
~ Proverbs 22:6

Indeed, if I want them to find and know love, I have to teach them about God, who IS Love. And no-one and nothing can ever take His Love from them. Because of this, I can have peace in the Lord. With Him, they can know peace, Love, and happiness.

....we are more than conquerors through Him that Loved us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to seperate us from the Love of God, which IS in Christ Jesus our Lord.
~ Romans 8:36-38

In the Father's Will

December 19, 2008

And this IS the Will of Him that sent Me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting Life: and I Will raise Him up at the last day.
~ John 6:40 ~ Jesus' Words

So we know that if we believe in the Name of Jesus, that He IS the Son of God, that He IS the Savior of all who allow Him to reign in their hearts, and that He IS the Forgiver of sins, that we have Life eternally granted unto us. He Will rise up all of His own in that last day!

But we must not only kno...

He Sees Into Our Hearts

December 15, 2008

God IS Omnicient ~ He knows all things ~ He knows you, and me ~ He knows the hearts of the sinners and the Christians. Even if one has accepted Jesus Christ into their hearts, to be their Lord and Savior, He still searches into the depths of our hearts. Nothing can ever be hidden from His eyes.

If we have forgotten the Name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;
shall not God search this out? for He knoweth the secrets of the heart.
 ~Psalm 44:20-21

Being a Christian doesn't me...

Our Righteous God Protects & Provides for His Children

December 13, 2008
For unto us a Child IS born, unto us a Son IS given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His Name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon His kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforeth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts Will perform this.
~ Isaiah 9:6-7

His IS the Purest Love

December 10, 2008

The LORD IS gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.
The LORD IS good to all : and His tender mercies are over all His works.
~ Psalm 145:8-9

My heart yearns to praise my God of Israel for all of His tremendous mercies He has shown me. He desires to shower all His children with His enduring Love, and His tender mercies. If you are in need, call on the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. He IS more than willing to pour upon you His grace.

The LORD IS nigh unto all them tha...

Manifold Dimensions of the Word

December 8, 2008
In the beginning was the Word, and Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any things made that was not made.
In Him was Life; and the Life was the Light of men.
And the Light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
~ John 1:1-5

Jesus IS the Living Word. He IS the eternal God, without beginning or end. With the Father He has always been, and always Will Be. Christ IS the Creator of all...

Keeping Our Minds Set On Things Above

December 5, 2008
Even when the earth was still young, there was prophecy of the birth of Christ Jesus.

.... there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel....             ~ from Numbers 24:17

And the Gentiles shall come to thy Light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. ~ Isaiah 60:3

From the beginning, the people of God have kept they're eyes looking above, to God who IS in heaven. In reverence and awe, the wise men followed the Star to where the baby Jesus was born.

Now whe...

Our King IS Coming

December 4, 2008
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I Will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
In His days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this IS His Name whereby He shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. ~ Jeremiah 23:5-6

As I meditate upon the returning of my King, the Lord Jesus Christ, my heart is filled with awe and fear.
For I know that when He comes again, He Will take venge...

These Holy Days

December 2, 2008
Whoa! December already ~ time seems to be flying quicker every year.

The day of our Lord Jesus' birth approaches, and I pray that God Will prepare the hearts of His people to receive His Light, His Life, His Love. This is a sacred time, for the Son of God was born into this world ~ Jesus Christ, still God Himself, but also to become man. His living here in the flesh, bleeding His soul-cleansing blood as He died, was for our redemption, for our salvation, for our sanctification ~ so that we co...

Learning to Trust the Lord

November 30, 2008
Oh, how Beautiful IS the LORD! He has patiently and oh so Lovingly been teaching me not to worry, but to trust Him, the God of all creation! This hasn't been easy for me at all, as I have learned very early on to fret, to imagine the worst case scenario, to jump into action as I try to "fix" the unfixable. Innumerable times I have found myself worn out and distraugt once I realized there was absolutely nothing I could do, but wait for everything to fall to peices before my eyes.

But now, I ha...

Who God IS still making me to be:

Melody Calhoun
Beautiful Alaska

Melody Calhoun Obviously, I love to write. Words have always been intriguing to me, especially when they are eloquently put together to convey to others one's personality, as well as their veiwpoint on life all around them. I believe that writing is very theraputical, as you get to put some order to the thoughts that crowd our minds and lay heavy on our hearts. As a Christian who wants all that I write to be pleasing and acceptable unto the Lord, my works become even more than that, because I know that He has purposes I cannot even perceive or comprehend in all things done for Him. Other than writing, I like to spend time with my family. We're an odd little bunch! and we like to have fun together. Unfortunately, just like all other families, we don't always get along, but the Lord IS gracious and reminds us all of the Love He gives us to share. Hmmm,,, I love chocolate cocoanut bars; fish and chicken are my favorite foods; purple and green interwoven into and out of one another are my preffered colors; I have always felt blessed by the ministry that God has given Billy Graham; music is essential, and Jeremy Camp is my favorite Christian artist; I love Ansal Adams photography; and I absolutely Love the writings of Paul in the New Testament. Other than that, I'm pretty mellow. Smile,,, at least sometimes.
