LORD, thank You
Lord, thank You for the times
when I knew my mom loved me,
for this gave me security, a sense of home.
Lord, thank You for every moment
we found that we simply could not agree
for I know now none of us is ever completely right.
Lord, thank You that I have seen
when given acceptance and approval
for preparing me for each door You’ve opened.
Lord, thank You for caring enough
to let me have heard the answer “no”
for I understand some doors You must close.
Lord, thank You for teaching me
how to let go, to be able to say
OK, God, show me the Way I should go.
Lord, thank You for the freedom
from fear, from loneliness, from confusion ~
You are ever with me ~ together our steps are sure.
Lord, thank You for planning my life ~
all our experiences are meant to be,
good and bad perfectly orchestrated to Your glory.
Lord, thank You for writing my name
in the Lamb’s Book of Life for I know
reconciled with You for eternity I’m meant to be.

IN FOLLOWING JOSEPH'S EXAMPLE
inspired by Genesis 45:1-7
Moved by an unstoppable grace
heaven swells within, like overwhelming floods of rain
pouring into the driest cackled throats, transforming
chapped arid irreverent scales until
they become soft supple soils, ready to blossom
fantastic unexpected colors of hope,
releasing our conscious minds
from the burdens of inflicting guilt as we pardon
our brethren who have given us pain
..... so enriching is
the nourishment of merciful forgiveness.
Blessed are those who choose
Love over vengeance,
covering multitudes of sin. LORD,
let me weep tears of Love,
just as Joseph wept ~
he perceived how to walk
in the Way of Christ
even then.
